The Sweet Spot

If you've tried to turn a hookup into relationship...

If you've tried to create more passion in the bedroom with your longterm partner whom you love very much...

If you've tried to make a longterm friendship something romantic...

These are all ways we try to get our NEEDS met in dating and relationships and I will be the first one to cheer you on.

Hooray for meeting your needs!

Doing the work to meet your needs is also SO vulnerable.

When we strive to get our needs met in our love lives we can put our hearts at risk.

We can risk rejection.

But it's a risk I advocate because they are risks threat move you closer to "the sweet spot".

The sweet spot being a relationship that combines meeting your needs in friendship, love and sex.

Now, I have to say this.

I am in no way saying that having 3 out of 3 is better than having 2 out of 3 or 1 out of 3.

Each of these is very powerful on it's own and in combination of twos can make for some very profound life experiences.

Today I'm saying that having or striving for all three truly is a profound experience that I think deep down some of us don't believe we can really have.

I know I didn't for many many years so I kept my vision and desire limited to 1 out of 3 or 2 out of 3 because I thought it was the best I could do.

I'm so glad I expanded what I believed was possible for me 4 years ago.

DISCLAIMER: I must mention that all three of these things did not magically appear in the relationship I am in now.

It takes time and work. I cultivated it. More on that in future posts.

So for today, If you want expansion too start by believing this sweet spot is possible for you too.

Take a moment to close your eyes and tell yourself this right now.

Let it in.

You got this.

Wishing you all a safe and self-loving Saturday.
