It’s hard to describe the exact moment heartbreak roots down
Maybe it comes like a tidal wave when the person you thought you’d spend your life with tells you it’s over.
Maybe it’s a slow unraveling, the kind that happens when you’ve been holding on to a marriage or relationship far longer than it’s been good for you.
Or perhaps it’s something deeper, quieter, and familiar long after they have moved out and moved on from you and the relationship. An old hurt reopening-- abandonment, rejection, or betrayal that takes you right back to the chaos of your childhood. You feel stuck between grief and a strange hope that they’ll come back, even though you know they won’t.
No matter how it arrives, heartbreak shakes your world in ways that no one else who hasn't experienced it can fully understand.
1
Are you going through a breakup or divorce, facing a major life shift and feeling like nothing makes sense anymore?
4
Have you tried program after program, followed all the advice, but you still feel like you’ve only scratched the surface of the real healing you need?
2
Do you find yourself stuck in obsessive thinking, reliving every moment, every conversation, and fixated on how things could have been different?
5
Do you feel like no matter how much you focus on “self-love,” there’s still an unresolved part of your past that’s shaping your current heartbreak?
3
Did you grow up in a family that didn't show love in a healthy way, and now every break-up feels like it cuts even deeper?
6
Have you been looking for something deeper, something that will help you break the cycle of heartbreak and rebuild your life from the ground up?
When you start to search for answers the world is quick to offer their solutions
Therapy is one path and it can be an incredibly helpful tool. But if you decide to explore the marketplace for healing heartbreak, you'll quickly find it's oversaturated with advice and “proven” methods on the right way to heal from this.
A lot of guidance online and in books tells you to “stay positive” and “distract yourself with new activities and hobbies”.
Some say, “Prove you’re better off without them by leveling up your entire life!? #revengeglowup”
And some say, “Cut off all contact and move on.”
But if you’re here, you already know that most of these approaches only scratch the surface.
And maybe, in the short term, those things seem to help—until they don’t.
What This Guidance Misses...
The depth of the heartbreak experience. It’s not just about “getting over it” or “moving on”. It’s about understanding the layers underneath the hurt, the patterns that have shaped your relationships, and the opportunity for growth that heartbreak offers.
GROUNDWORK is an invitation to go deeper, to explore the full emotional landscape of heartbreak, and to connect with the deeper transformation it can offer. I plan to take a different approach from the “quick-fix” and surface-level methods you see out there, and this approach comes from my direct experience with heartbreak.
Rather than doing things to subconsciously escape or bypass your heartbreak, you’ll learn the how of working with heartbreak in a way that leads to lasting transformation.
Flow of the Class Series
1
Meeting the Spirt of Heartbreak
We often view heartbreak as something to be conquered or pushed aside. But what if we could relate to it differently?
On day one you’ll be invited to shift your perspective, seeing heartbreak as a transformative energy—something that, when approached with openness, can offer valuable lessons and growth.
What We’ll Explore:
-
How heartbreak can be a force for transformation.
-
Your current relationship with heartbreak—enemy or ally?
-
How reframing heartbreak as a guide can change the way you heal.
2
Clean vs Complicated Grief
Heartbreak isn’t always about what's happening right in front of you. Often, it stirs up old wounds from the past.
On day two you'll learn how to start recognizing your layers on grief and learn steps to start separating them so you can look back at this heartbreak more clearly.
What We’ll Explore:
-
The difference between clean grief (present pain) and complicated grief (old wounds).
-
Why resisting grief keeps you stuck—and why grieving is essential for true healing.
-
How to recognize when old wounds are surfacing during heartbreak.
3
Relationship Status:
It's Complicated
Positive and negative fantasies keep the relationship alive in your mind, making it harder to fully let go and move on.
On day three, we’ll look at how keeping the relationship "active" in our minds holds us back, and we’ll learn techniques to shift back to reality and support healing.
What We’ll Explore:
-
The difference between idealizing the past (positive fantasy) and fixating on worst-case scenarios (negative fantasy)
-
The ways that these mental loops can block acceptance and prevent the closure needed to truly heal and move forward.
-
Simple grounding techniques to help you stay present in your healing journey.
This is just the beginning...
GROUNDWORK is designed to introduce you to concepts so you can start to shift your perspective on heartbreak. It’s not about “fixing” the pain but about understanding it on a deeper level—and using that understanding as a foundation for continued work and lasting change.
After these three days, you’ll have a clearer sense of how to navigate your healing in a new way. And for those who are ready to dive even deeper, this is just the beginning of the journey we’ll explore together in an upcoming paid program—a transformative journey into healing heartbreak at its roots.
Hello. I'm Michele.
I'm a lot of things...
and for the purposes of this offering, I'm a guide for people navigating the complexities of heartbreak and personal growth. Sure, I have a background in psychology, over 15 years of teaching experience, and 8 years of coaching under my belt, but my biggest flex is my lived experience over the last two years navigating my own heartbreak. I created this class series to share what I discovered. GROUNDWORK is the first step in discovering the hidden wisdom of heartbreak and using it consciously to rebuild from the ground up.
